![]() ![]() And honestly I feel as though Ive made a poor choice for our needs. I also like that it has a second ice maker in the freezer.Īll in all I have to say that I am very disappointed. Things that we do like are the SpacePlus ice system which is great. And none of the drawers really feel as solid as the ones in our old unit. At first I thought this might be a good thing but even though there is one drawer on each side - and this is a French Door Fridge - you must open BOTH doors to pull open either drawer.Īdditionally even though the compare function on the retail stores webpage showed that these drawers including the deli/meat drawer had humidity controls NONE of them do. Not good.įourth instead of three crisper-type drawers there are two. Now if you want to look at or fiddle with those controls you have to stand there with the fridge door open. Third on our old LG the temperature controls alarm settings and all of that were on a panel near the ice dispenser on the outside of the fridge. Its a bin at the top of the door and you have to reach up and over and down into the bin to get to the butter. Second there is no flip-up door on the butter keeper. If we change the configuration at all we will end up with very narrow spaces between some shelves that would be useless. And there are hardly ANY slot options for adjusting the shelves. Theres no way to store tall items upright on any of the shelves unless you remove the shelf above it altogether and store it in a closet or something. And I dont know what to do about it.įirst its missing the folding shelf. Unfortunately there is so little flexibility related to arranging the shelves Im not really sure this is going to work for us. We have no need for the see-through door but it looks cool. We knew it was slightly smaller but still its a large capacity counter depth fridge. We shopped the Memorial Day sale prices and thought we were buying essentially what we had before with the addition of the snazzy see-through door. When it recently gave up the ghost we didnt hesitate to immediately shop for a new LG to replace it. Lg.com We had and loved an LFX28978SB Ultra-Large Capacity 3 Door French Door Refrigerator with Ice Water Dispenser for 12 years. If you're looking to save a bit more money, won't use all the features of this model, and aren't as bothered about the look, then you could buy something that offers the same storage space and cooling efficiency for a chunk less, such as the Frigidaire Gallery FGHB2868TF.īut with lots of positive feedback from families and individuals about the app support, spaciousness, anti-fingerprint finish and that door-in-door special skill – this is a feature rich appliance well worth its price.3.5 lbs / 3.8 (IcePlus) 2.5 lbs (F/Cubed)ĭone Yes, I would recommend this to a friend If you think the door-in-door feature could be useful and the app support would also be worth your money, then this is worth the investment. If you do want something a little more affordable, check out the Kenmore Elite 73025. That does mean a steep price tag, although for what you get it undercuts the competition by a good chunk. (Image credit: LG) Should you buy the LG LFXS26596S French door refrigerator?Īs French door fridge freezers go, the LG LFXS26596S is cutting edge in terms of both features and looks. ![]()
